As the December 2024 Annual Convocation approaches, the Pastor in Council Works and Projects Committee has intensified efforts to ensure a dust free Imeko for the comfort of all C.C.C. faithfuls that attend this year’s Convocation.
IMEKO 2024: A VISION IN PROGRESS
As December 2024 draws near, preparations are in full swing to make this year’s Annual Convocation at the Celestial City, Imeko, Ogun State, a remarkable and comfortable experience for all.
The Pastor-in-Council Works and Projects Committee has ramped up efforts to ensure dust-free roads and enhanced infrastructure for the thousands of faithful expected to attend.
What’s happening now?
Construction teams are hard at work upgrading all roads leading to the Celestial Basilica. New drainage systems have been installed, grading has been completed, and asphalt is being laid. The teams work day and night, ensuring every detail is perfected before the Convocation.
But this is more than just a facelift—it’s the realization of our beloved Pastor-Founder, Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa’s dream to transform Imeko into our very own “Jerusalem.” The vision includes tarred roads and modern amenities like pipe-borne water, uninterrupted electricity, schools, hospitals, guest houses, and residential estates.
A journey of faith, one step at a time
This bold vision is steadily unfolding. While challenges remain, the Pastor-in-Council and the Works Committee push forward with unwavering determination. The generous contributions of faithful members from parishes worldwide power the current efforts.
Updates on key projects
- Roads: In addition to the smooth roads, proper drainage prevents flooding, ensuring easy access for all.
- International Conference Centre: The roof has been repaired, the walls plastered inside and out, and aluminum windows installed. Work on tiling, electrical piping, and a borehole is ongoing, and painting is soon to follow.
- Celestial Basilica: This magnificent structure is getting a fresh coat of paint, and plans are underway to floor the overflow area surrounding it.
