The Pastor and Supreme Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the sudden passage of the Archbishop of Lagos Province and the Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye, who transited to higher glory in the evening of Sunday, 30th October, 2022, at the age of 53 years.

Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa described the loss as irreparable, noting that the deceased gave a very good account of himself in the discharge of his duties in the Lord’s vineyard. He described the late Most Reverend H.B. Olumakaiye as an outstanding, selfless and courageous soldier of Christ, whose exit has created a vacuum that would indeed be difficult to fill.‘ Heaven has gained yet another worthy angel,’ His Eminence concluded.

Late Reverend Olumakaiye was elected for translation into the Anglican Diocese of Lagos on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was elected the Archbishop of the Province of Lagos and was officially enthroned on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja.

Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye was born on 28 January, 1969, at Okene into the family of Venerable and Mrs T.A. Olumakaiye. He was a native of Idanre, Ondo State.

May his soul find eternal peace in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
