Dear Brethren, as we stand on the threshold of the new year, 2024, I greet you all in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and also wish you a happy and prosperous new year, 2024!

The entry of the New Year should not just be about the revelry, excitement and celebration alone. This is a period of introspection. A time to set new goals and re-evaluate our relationship with God. Amidst all the joyous celebrations, we must also acknowledge that God is God and does all things well. We must come to the full realisation that God’s love for us as a country, as a church and as individuals, is unconditional. Indeed, God’s love is true.

God has promised us an abundance of goodness in the year 2024. He has made a covenant of overflowing mercies and a promise to turn our fortunes around for good. His promises abound. But on our part, we need to re-evaluate our relationship with the Almighty. It is not enough to spend all our time in church attending one service or the other. We need to look inwards and ask ourselves the question, Are we Christ-like in our behaviour, carriage and in our relationship with our neighbours? Does our life reflect Christ in all that we do? If we can truly answer these and other related questions, then we would have set our foot on the right path as we journey into the New Year, 2024.

I call on the ruling class to be sensitive to the plight of the masses. Many have been impoverished by run-away inflation which has taken the basic needs of life out of the reach of the masses. The worrisome issues of insecurity and wanton killings need to be addressed and nipped in the bud permanently. The sad truth is that posterity will certainly judge our leaders badly if they fail to get it right at this critical time in the history of Nigeria.

We acknowledge that the task before the country’s leadership is herculean but as a church, the Celestial Church of Christ, will not relent in praying for God’s guidance, grace and the divinely inspired ability to steer the nation’s ship aright amidst all the challenges. I pray that the Lord upholds and guides our leaders right in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

It is also my prayer that the fortunes of our country, Nigeria, as well as our individual fortunes, turns around for good in the new year, 2024. May this New Year usher in the peace, succour and abundant blessings that we all yearn for in this great nation.

Once again, I wish you a blessed and fulfilling new year, 2024!

-His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, Pastor And Spiritual Head, C.C.C. W/w.
