With heavy hearts but in total submission to the will of the Almighty, we announce the call to everlasting glory of Superior Evangelist Ekundayo Babakayode Opaleye, MPIC, which occurred in the morning of Saturday, 18th November, 2023, at Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
Superior Evangelist Ekundayo Babakayode Opaleye retired as a Major General in the Nigerian Army. He was the Military Governor of the old Ondo State (before the creation of present-day Ekiti State) from August 1986 to December 1987, during the regime of Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
Superior Evangelist Ekundayo Babakayode Opaleye was a devoted Christian who served God diligently in the Celestial Church of Christ. He was a Member of the Pastor in Council (MPIC) and served the church at the highest level in different capacities at different times.
He would be sorely missed. We await further information from the family.
