His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, held a grand reception in honour of His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa at the Ile Oodua Palace, Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Thursday, 19th December, 2022.
Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa who was on a one day visit to the ancient city of Ile-Ife, to commision a cosmopolitan cathedral of the Celestial Church of Christ, arrived at the Ile Oodua Palace with a large entourage made up of church clergy and faithfuls including Most Superior Evangelist S.I. Akindoyin, Most Superior Evangelist Olusegun Olarinde, Venerable Superior Evangelist Gabriel Jerry, Venerable Superior Evangelist J.O. Ayodele, Venerable Superior Evangelist Joseph Talon, Venerable Superior Evangelist Akinbode Adjovi, Venerable Superior Evangelist Olatosho Oshoffa, Venerable Superior Evangelist Augustine Olumilade, Venerable Superior Evangelist S.F. Adeniyi, Venerable Superior Evangelist Samuel Osodi, Venerable Superior Evangelist Femi Obiyan, Venerable Superior Evangelist Bakre, AVSE Gouan Barthelemy, AVSE Jonathan Adepegba, Superior Evangelist Femi Arayemi, Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, Most Senior Evangelist Solomon Oshoffa, amongst others.
His Eminence Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, in his address, thanked His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for the warm and elaborate reception accorded him and decreed peace and abundance on the land of Ile Ife. He beseeched the Almighty God to grant his host long life, good health and prosperity on the throne of his fore fathers and prayed for the peace, unity and progress of the nation at the approach of the 2023 general elections.
In his response, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, began by singing a hymn of the Celestial Church of Christ and was joined in chorus by all present. The Ooni expressed his love for the Celestial Church of Christ and also made it known that he was not happy that he was not invited to the recently held Annual Convocation of the church at Imeko, Ogun State. Going down memory lane, he reminded the gathering that when he was invited to the Imeko Convocation a few years back, he honoured the invitation and thoroughly enjoyed himself at the event. He described His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa as a man of peace, whose twenty year reign as Pastor and Spiritual Head of C.C.C. W/w, has brought unprecedented growth to the church.
The visit coincided with the 53rd birthday of Venerable Superior Evangelist Olatosho Oshoffa, Shepherd in Charge, Celestial Church of Christ, International Headquarters Cathedral, Ketu, Lagos, who was joined by His Eminence and the renowned monarch to cut his birthday cake at the Ile Oodua Palace, after which the pastoral delegation was hosted to a sumptious dinner.
The Pastoral train would return to base after His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa commisions the newly built cathedral of the church at Ile-Ife on Friday, 20th January, 2023.
