A change of baton in the leadership of the Celestial Church of Christ, Army Barracks Parish, Mokola, Ibadan , Oyo State, occured on Sunday, 4th December, 2022, as the E.M.F. administration withdrew the Shepherd in Charge, VSE Noah Ikumehinlo and installed VSE J.O. Ayodele, as the new leader of the parish.
The change of baton which was supervised by a high powered delegation of the Pastor in Council, C.C.C. W/w, under the authority of His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, was witnessed by an overflowing congregation of the parish.
The delegation led by the Pastor in Council Secretary, Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, delivered a peace inspiring message from the Pastor and Supreme Head of C.C.C. W/w, His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, calling on the teeming congregation to allow peace to reign in the parish, as far reaching decisions concerning the ongoing imbroglio at C.C.C. Army Barracks Parish, Mokola, had been taken by the church administration.
Ajala proceeded to announce that the Shepherd in Charge, VSE Noah Ikumehinlo, had been withdrawn from the Parish and asked to report at the Pastor’s Office for further instructions, while Ekiti State Evangelist, VSE J.O. Ayodele is posted to C.C.C. Army Barracks Parish as Shepherd in Charge and Oyo State Evangelist with immediate effect. Both announcements were received with visible excitement and jubilation by the parishioners.
A representative of the parish youths, Oluwatosin Odita and a member of the Adekanbi Family, Sammy Adekanbi (Sammy P) had the opportunity to address the congregation. Odita expressed gratitude for the response of the church administration and urged His Eminence to seriously consider the dissolution of the parish’s parochial committee that that been in office for more than ten years. He also thanked the Pastor in Council for their intervention and the steps taken to secure the release of one of the parish youths, Remi Martins, who was taken into Police detention the previous week. In his own submission, Sammy P addressed the lies and falsehood that had been presented to the Pastor by different parties involved in the controversy at the parish.
The newly installed Shepherd in Charge of the parish, VSE J.O. Ayodele addressed the congregation and was applauded for his delivery. Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala assured the congregation that a report on the request for the dissolution of the parish’s parochial committee would be promptly delivered to His Eminence.
The Pastor in Council delegation was made up of Superior Evangelist David Bello, Superior Evangelist David Sikpa, Superior Evangelist Akinyele Sanyaolu, SVMSE Julius Akinola, SVMSE Raphael Iwolode, SVMSE Olaolu Omorinde, Evangelist Korede Ogunmola, MC Mojisola Alegbe and MC Mary Iluyemi.
Upon receiving the report of the P.I.C. delegation to C.C.C. Army Barracks Parish, Mokola, Ibadan, His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, immediately approved the dissolution of the Parochial Committee of the parish, just as efforts have been intensified to ensure that the petition to the police, against some youths of
the parish, is withdrawn.
