The Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, has called on members of the fold in Nigeria to be security and safety conscious as the speculated 1st August, 2024 date of the hunger protest being planned across the country approaches.
Noting that the 1st August, 2024 date coincides with the date of the new month vigil of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence advised C.C.C. members spread across the country to be extra sensitive and conscious of the security situation in their immediate environments before stepping out to attend the new month vigil on Thursday, 1st August, 2024. Where the situation is unfavourable, C.C.C. members are advised to remain indoors.
In the same vein, Shepherds are directed to study the situation in the immediate environment of their parishes closely and take a decision on whether to hold the new month vigil for the the month of August 2024 or not. Again, where the situation is volatile, the new month vigil for August should be cancelled. However, if the security situation in their immediate environments permits, then the vigil can hold.
Reverend E.M.F Oshoffa was categorical in warning C.C.C. youths not to join any violent protest across the country. “Such protests, if they must take place, must be conducted within the ambits of the law and must be totally devoid of violence of any kind or destruction of public property,” His Eminence explained.
